Starting June 14, viewers will be able to watch the ABS-CBN sitcom George and Cecil starring newlywed couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo.

Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo specifically requested that Joey Reyes become the director of this romance comedy show. Direk Joey was the same person behind their blockbuster films Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo and Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo.

Judy Ann and Gladys are so excited with this project especially they are working together again in the upcoming romantic-comedy show, George and Cecil.

Juday, who deeply misses a friend, said she is glad that ABS-CBN has granted her request to revive her team-up with Gladys. “I was really requesting for Gladys. I miss working with her, because in this industry there are only few people whom you will have deep bonding. That’s why I am requesting for her for a long time because I feel that people also miss our tandem.”

“I am so happy that this project finally came… I am happy to work with Judy Ann again and it was a very overwhelming feeling,” said Gladys, who will be playing Miriam, the policewoman buddy of George played by Juday.

“They will see that the young Mara Clara before are not just enemies but they could also be best of friends,” Gladys added.

Cast:

• Judy Ann Santos plays Georgina “George” Castro-Murillo, the tough and rational policewoman wife of Cecil.
• Ryan Agoncillo is cast as Cecilio “Cecil” Murillo, the sensitive and emotional teacher husband of George.
• Miriam Macabenta is George’s policewoman best friend. Gladys Reyes reunites with Judy Ann Santos after they were mortal enemies in the ’90s drama soap Mara Clara.
• Glady’s husband, Christopher Roxas, is also part of this ABS-CBN show. His character is Oscar Macabenta, Miriam’s unemployed and occasionally philandering husband.

Aside from their tandem, working with their respective husbands also delights Juday and Gladys.

“I can’t ask for more in this project. Working with your husband is the happiest thing to do. I’m just praying that televiewers would appreciate this new offering of ABS-CBN,” Gladys said.

Juday and Ryan meanwhile looked at it as an advantage, because they will be using one car on their way to the set of “George and Cecil”. “Much cheaper for us because we will only use one car. We arrive at the set at the same time as well, so it’s a good change for us,” Ryan said.

Under the direction of Joey Reyes, “George and Cecil” sets forth June 14 over ABS-CBN.

Meanwhile, viewers will also get to see that these two can be the best of friends on cam. “Opposite naman ng Habang May Buhay yung characters namin sa George and Cecil. Pareho kaming pulis na magbarkada. Siya naman yung kaibigan ko na madaming frustrations sa husband niya at sa biyenan niya. Kaya kapag may nahuhuli siyang tao na masama binubugbog niya, dun niya inilalabas lahat ng galit niya. Isipin mo maliit na babae nambubugbog ng malalaking mama, yung ganon. Breather din para sa aming dalawa.”
