So You Think You Can Dance Auditions recap 05/21/09: Sonya Tayeh, Mary Murphy return
So You Think You Can Dance kicked off its fifth season with a two hour premiere. The show featured mohawk-clad choreographer Sonya Tayeh, a same-sex ballroom dance pair and judge Mary Murphy’s token scream.
Los Angeles dancer Sonya Tayeh rejoins So You Think You Can Dance tonight. Sonya Tayeh was on So You Think You Can Dance season 4 as a contemporary and jazz choreographer.
But as the show headed to New York and Denver tonight, Sonya rejoined the Season 5 show.
Meanwhile, Mary Ann Murphy or Mary Murphy, a ballroom dance champion,accredited dance judge, and a regular judge and choreographer on the FOX dance competition-reality show So You Think You Can Dance, was joined at the judges’ table by returning judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe.
This two hour premiere included the audition footage from New York and Denver. The premiere will continue tomorrow night for another two hour audition session.
All you fans will be thrilled to know that So You Think You Can Dance has become such a summer hit, the sixth season of So You Think You Can Dance will air this fall!
