Barbara Sheehan on Oprah Show 05/14/2009
May 14, 2009 4 p.m. Oprah Winfrey: Oprah talks with Barbara Sheehan and Stacey Lannert, who admit to killing their loved ones.
A little over a year ago, Barbara Sheehan was a wife of 24 years, a mother of two and working as a school secretary. Today, the 48-year-old is up against murder charges and is months away from facing a jury that will decide her fate.
When Barbara married Raymond, a police officer, she looked forward to sharing a long and happy life with him. “We had the same beliefs and we wanted to have children, and everything was really good,” she says. — www.oprah.com
Barbara admits to shooting her husband, she says she shouldn’t be sent to prison. “How could someone go to jail for defending themselves? But if I have to go to jail, then I’ll be better off than where I was,” she says. “And my children will be better off, and they’re better off now.”

Barbara dont you give up on this for one single second of your life! I just watched your appearance on OPRAH which I recorder earlier this week and felt so driven to let you know there are more women than you can ever imagine that have experienced abuse at the hands of their very own fathers, boyfriends, and husbands. I will pray for you every day until your court battle is complete and you are a FREE WOMAN at last! You will NOT spend time in jail for this! I wish I were able to attend your trial to show my support and to represent the millions of other women around the world that have experienced the abuse of other men as well. You will no longer have to live in fear again!!! Please, Please rely on the Lord to carry you through this. You have been through the most difficult part of your life…. please believe the turmoil is over and he will no longer hurt you. You protected yourself and equally as important, you protected your innocent children. I STAND beside you!!! Diane
